Why does my restaurant or institution need a nutrition analysis?
As of July 1, it will be the law. At the end of 2009,
the Montgomery County Council adopted Resolution 16-1194 to address public health
concerns over increasing obesity. The bill requires all eating and drinking establishments
in Montgomery County to post nutrition information on their menu boards and
menus. The bill applies to restaurants or institutions that have 20 or more national locations
operating under the same name. In addition to restaurants, this bill applies to some health facilities, schools, and other institutions in our area.
What nutritional information do I need to post?

On a menu or menu board, you must post calorie
information for each menu item. However, you must also provide the following
information in writing from any customer who requests it: calories, calories
from fat, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, total carbohydrates, among
other nutritional elements.
What does your service do?
We are c
urrently the only
local nutrition analysis consultants exclusively serving Montgomery County restaurants.
Using a database of more than 25,000 ingredients, we analyze the nutritional
content of your recipes and give you all the information you need to comply
with Resolution 16-1194. Our analysis is strictly confidential—each ingredient is web
encrypted with an indecipherable code that is inaccessible to any outside
personnel. We can also provide extra marketing services, helping you design
attractive menus and flyers.
How much does nutrition analysis cost?
There are s
everal types of high-end services that provide nutrition
analysis. The Maryland Board of Health estimates that hiring a dietician costs
up to $8,000 while a laboratory analysis costs up to $10,000. Fortunately, GoodisGood is dramatically more affordable depending on the number of items on your menu. Contact us today for a free quote or more information!
